..sumptuous leather sofas..
..well equipped kitchen..
..sea views..

Loving restored by new owners, Carrol and John, the cottage offers the perfect retreat for young families and couples wanting to explore this coastal part of the Snowdonia National Park.

Downstairs and open plan area houses both a lounge and kitchen diner. The lounge area has two sumptuous leather sofas and some tasteful fixtures and decorations. The adjoining kitchen is very well equipped and includes a double oven, washing machine on dishwasher. These two living areas are divided by a breakfast bar, ensuring the chef isn’t isolated from the rest of the family. Finally a pretty dining table and 4 chairs sits off to the left.

Upstairs, we have two double bedrooms and one family shower room. The first bedroom has a nice fitted wardrobe as well as the usual bedside tables and matching dressing table. The second bedroom is smaller, but perfectly formed and, like the first bedroom, enjoy some lovely sea views. The bathroom has as a walk-in shower cubicle with electric power shower.

Location

Dyffryn Ardudwy is a bustling seaside village half way between Harlech and Barmouth on the western edge of Snowdonia. The village has a butchers, post office and small grocery shop as well as a couple of cafés and two pubs serving food. (The pubs are within easy walking distance of the house.) The larger towns of Barmouth and Harlech offer a wider selection of shops and restaurants and are 10 minutes away by car.

The area’s most obvious draw is the miles of clean sandy beaches nearby. But guests should also take the opportunity to explore the rugged Rhinog mountains also accessible from the house. Snowdon itself is a 40 minute drive to the north.

Other activities within a short car journey include mountain biking at Coed Y Brennin, white water rafting at Tryweryn and pony trekking in Betws Y Coed. Smaller independent activity providers will also take you gorge walking, kite surfing, climbing etc. Two many to mention.

You can’t drive for more than five minutes in this area without passing a burial ground, castle or some sort of historic monument. And our more recent industrial past can be re-lived with trips on narrow gauge steam railways and by exploring underground slate mines.
