North Wales Holiday Cottage with Sea Views | Yr-EfailThis charming North Wales holiday cottage with sea views is set in an idyllic village location walking distance from the beach and local pub. Three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, can sleep up to 6 people plus a cot.

To make the most of the fantastic panoramic sea views the house has been arranged with the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living rooms on the first floor. The dining room and lounge are combined into one open plan space.

A modern oak dining table and chairs sits one end of the room complimented by some select ornaments and paintings. At the other end of the room a luxuriously large sofa sits facing onto a pleasing living flame fire. The rug, curtains and soft furnishings are all beautifully chosen.

From here we can access what is perhaps the best thing about this house, the wonderful sun terrace. Split onto two levels with wooden decking this is the perfect place for guests those sea views.

I can well imagine Dad taking charge of the BBQ, some local welsh lamb perhaps or welsh black beef steaks. The rest of the family sit and chat at the patio table drinking chilled whine wine and tumblers of squash pilled high with ice.

Back inside we turn right into the kitchen. Modern cream units sit under a black worktop. All the modern featured you would expect including a dishwasher, washing machine, large fan oven, induction hob and second combination oven. A glass panel door also offers access back out onto the sun terrace.

As mentioned there are three bedrooms downstairs. Each room is beautifully decorated and each has large modern comfortable beds. The beautifully tilled family bathroom has a bath with shower over. A second shower is housed in a generously sized en-suite bathroom.

Location

Dyffryn Ardudwy is a lovely little village half way between Harlech and Barmouth on the Cambrian Coast Road. Two pubs in the village. The first is within easy walking distance the other is a little further but still no need for the car. The post office, grocery shop and butchers are also only a short distance from the house. The larger towns of Harlech and Barmouth are 5 minutes away by car and offer more choice of shops and restaurants etc.

…lovely little village…
…clean sandy beaches…
…adventure activities…

The beach in the village is fantastic. Huge rolling sand dunes stretch up and down this part of the coastline. Wonderfully clean water and gently sloping coastline provides a safe environment for all ages.

The mountains behind the house are a big favorite of many who know this area. Cwm Nantcol and Cwm Bychan must count among the most beautiful mountain valleys in the National Park. As well as mountain walking the more adventurous might enjoy white water rafting on the Tryweryn river, mountain biking at Coed Y Brenin or gorge walking with our friends at Snowdonia Adventure Activities.

Luxurious Self Catering Accommodation on a Working Farm | Faeldre

Luxurious Self Catering Accommodation on a Working Farm

Faeldre offers some truly luxurious self catering accommodation on a working farm and only a short drive from the beach. The westernmost corner of this large and historic farmhouse has been recently renovated into a 3 bedroom holiday cottage. The spectacular sea views from the large picture windows combined with tasteful decor, original features and luxurious modern touches creates a perfect base for your Snowdonia holiday.

Luxurious Self Catering Accommodation on a Working Farm

..luxury self catering..
..working welsh farm..
..near beach..

You enter the cottage through a central porched doorway. The lounge is to the left, the kitchen-diner is to the right. In the lounge, two modern leather sofas sit facing onto a large flat screen TV on a plush new carpet. Whilst in the kitchen-diner the square dining table and chairs sit on a more traditional slate floor. Modern kitchen units house all the essential appliances. The slate flooring continues on into the ground floor bathroom. This includes a nice yet simple suit and a large walk in shower.

A second bathroom can be found on the first floor landing. Again we have a large walk in shower as well as a separate bath. Everything is beautifully tiled is soft subtle shades.

Luxurious Self Catering Accommodation on a Working Farm

3 bedrooms upstairs. The double bedroom, like everywhere else, is beautifully decorated and has the luxury of a walk in wardrobe. The twin room is in the older part of the house and, as a result, has a lovely high ceiling and a tall grand window, helping guests enjoy that spectacular sea view. The third single bedroom is smaller and should probably be classed as a child’s room although it has a full sized bed.

Location

The cottage is at the end of a private drive leading off the Cambrian coast road half way between Harlech and Barmouth on the western edge of Snowdonia. Llanbedr, the nearest village has a butchers, post office and small grocery shop as well as two pubs serving food. The larger towns of Barmouth and Harlech offer a wider selection of shops and restaurants perhaps and are 10 minutes away by car.

Luxurious Self Catering Accommodation on a Working Farm

..miles of sandy beaches..
..rugged Rhinog Mountains..
..adventure activities..

The area’s most obvious draw is the miles of beautifully clean sandy beaches nearby. Many walkers will also naturally head towards Snowdon during their stay, a 35 minute drive to the north. But guests should also take the opportunity to explore the rugged Rhinog mountains which are just behind the cottage.

Other activities within a short car journey include mountain biking at Coed Y Brenin, white water rafting at Tryweryn and pony trekking in Betws Y Coed. Smaller independent activity providers will also take you gorge walking, kite surfing, climbing etc. Two many to mention.

You can’t drive for more than five minutes in this area without passing an ancient burial ground, castle or some sort of historic monument. And our more recent industrial past can be re-lived with trips on narrow gauge steam railways and by exploring underground slate mines.

Or, you could just sit on the patio, read a book, drink a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

Romantic Pet Friendly Holiday Cottage | Bwthyn-Clyd

Bwthyn-Clyd

Bwthyn Clyd is the second cottage that Bethan and Gary have renovated. And it’s every bit as stylish as their first one, Bwthyn Bach. It’s been immaculately decorated and filled with modern elegant furniture.

As you walk in, stable doors open onto a spacious lounge with leather furniture, flat screen tv etc. On the right, a breakfast bar separates this living area from a modern galley kitchen. All the facilities you’d expect here and, again, the crockery and accessories are tastefully chosen. Bethans influence I suspect more than Gary’s. A door to the left leads to the double bedroom with its luxurious king size bed. The contemporary bathroom includes a large shower cubicle with power shower. Lots of storage space which is perhaps unusual for a holiday let. And the bedding and towels are crisp and fresh as guests to the first cottage would expect.

A shared garden area has fantastic views stretching out over Cardigan Bay coastline. Guests also have the benefit of a wonderful, newly installed hot tub. All in all a perfect base for couples or young families to explore this rural part of southern Snowdonia.

Romantic Pet Friendly Holiday Cottage | Bwthyn-Clyd

Location

In the summer most people will visit the cottage because of the miles of Green Coast award winning sandy beaches nearby. And there certainly worth the trip no matter what time of year you decide to stay. But this particular corner of Snowdonia also offers walkers a wealth of undiscovered bridleways and footpaths in some of the most beautiful scenery of the National Park.

The mountains here offer a welcome alternative to the more heavily visited peaks to the north. You can walk the higher ridges here all day without bumping into another living sole. I’m not sure if there are many areas in the UK where that’s still true.

There are two pubs in the village both serving food as well as a post office, small grocery store and garage. The larger towns of Barmouth and Harlech are 5 miles to the south and north respectively.

Bwthyn Bach is a lovely little pet friendly self catering cottage near Barmouth on the outskirts of Dyffryn Ardudwy. Newly decorated and furnished to a high standard, the accommodation provides a perfect retreat for couples wanting to explore this part of rural Snowdonia. The open plan kitchen is well equipped with quality stainless steel appliances and has plenty of storage and worktop space. The breakfast bar provides a subtle divide between this area and the lounge.  So whoever’s in charge of making tea can keep one eye on the ‘One Show’ whilst cooking. Comfortable leather sofa and flat screen digital TV in the lounge.

For a small cottage the bathroom is surprisingly generous and has a powerful shower but no bath. The bedroom next door is also very comfortable and includes a kingsize bed. With everything on the ground floor, access could not be easier.

Unique self catering cottage in North Wales | Gatehouse

Gatehouse | Unique self catering cottage in North WalesThe Gatehouse of Cors Y Gedol Hall is a truly unique self catering cottage in North Wales. Built by the Vaughan family in the 14th century this imposing building now provides self catering accommodation for up to 7 people in one of the nicest parts of the Snowdonia national park. Having driven up the mile long drive from the coast road you cant help but be impressed by the gothic symmetry of the building. It stands of course as the welcome entrance to the great hall behind. Carved granite finials flank the central arch where lords and ladies in horse drawn carriages would pass through. And the arched windows with their sandstone mullions and a central cusp create a real fairytale look.

unique self catering cottage

..unique self catering cottage..
..gothic symmetry..
..a fairy tale building..

The central arch which bisects the house does mean the accommodation is unconventional. But I think that just adds to the character. The lounge and two of the bedrooms are on one side of the building whilst the kitchen and one more bedroom are on the other side. Having to pass through the covered central arch to get to the other side does mean that midnight trips to the fridge in your nightie might be a bit risky as the arch remains exposed on one side. But I’m guessing the sheep have probably seen it all before.

Unique Self catering Cottage

The kitchen has a country cottage feel and includes a dishwasher and washing machine as well as all the other essentials. The lounge is beautifully furnished. Original features such as old oak beams and arched windows are complimented by Laura Ashley curtains and tasteful antique ornaments. As I say, three bedrooms in total. One family room with a double bed and a single bed plus two more double rooms. All the bedrooms have a fantastic view over the surrounding grounds. Both sides of the building have a wc each. Which is a relief. One bathroom has a shower, the other a bath.

Location

As part of the Cors Y Gedol estate this unique self catering cottage is set within impressive grounds. Guests have their own enclosed and private garden to enjoy but are also free to explore the manicured lawns and lake of the main hall nearby. The surrounding ancient woodland is also a great place for curious children (and adults) to explore. Beyond the trees the mountains of the national park rise up to the west and are easily accessible straight from your front door. To the east miles of sandy beaches stretch out along the Cambrian coast. There are a couple of pubs in the village, a small grocery store, a post office and an excellent local butchers. The popular seaside town of Barmouth is a 10 minute drive to the south whilst the town of Harlech with its famous castle and links golf course is 10 minutes to the North. This entire stretch of coastline boasts some wonderful clean and sandy beaches. Whilst walking in the mountains provides the perfect escape from the daily bustle. Too many adventure activities to list but drop me an email if you need pointing in the right direction.

North Wales Holiday Cottage With Sea Views | Tyn-Buarth

North Wales Holiday Cottage with sea views

Four Bedroom North Wales Holiday Cottage with sea views. I should have taken some photos of the guest book in the cottage for you, as the same comments come up time and time again. “Attention to detail”, “immaculate”, “perfect in every way”. And you can see why the minute you step in the door. It’s impossible to criticize this North Wales holiday cottage. Everything from the seaside location and general layout down to the cushions and tasteful ornaments are exactly as they should be.

In the kitchen-diner, oak fitted units house a very well equipped kitchen. This is complemented by oak dining chairs and table, immediately providing a sense of style and quality that prevails throughout the cottage. The room is made bright and airy by the French doors that open out onto the patio and private lawned garden where guests can enjoy uninterrupted sea views of the Cambrian coastline and the Llyn Peninsula beyond.

Next to the kitchen a small utility room includes a washing machine, clothes dryer and extra work surface. There is also a convenient ground floor wc and washbasin adjacent to the back door.

North Wales Holiday Cottage With Sea Views

From the dinning area we enter a very spacious lounge. Two large leather sofas face onto an impressive living flame gas fire (complete with remote control) and a wide screen digital TV. Plush cream carpets (so no dogs allowed) and coordinating furnishings finish off the room to perfection.

A wide oak staircase leads off the lounge up to the first floor. 4 bedrooms in total. 3 doubles and a single room. The first double room has a king sized bed as well as an en-suite shower room. This first bedroom also benefits from floor to ceiling windows making the most of that fantastic sea view.

The second bedroom is equally spacious and also has a king sized bed. The third bedroom is a little smaller so has the standard double bed. (Funnily enough, although smaller, this was probably my favorite bedroom. It’s the one with the brown pillow in the attached pictures.) Again, both these bedrooms enjoy sea views. Finally a single bedroom is also generously proportioned and like the others, has tasteful bedside tables and lamps and matching dressing table. All the bedrooms have their own TV.

Finally the family bathroom has a shower over bath arrangement. And, like the rest of the house, everything is immaculately clean and orderly.

Large Family Self Catering in Central Village Location | Tregantle

4 Bedroom House Dyffryn Ardudwy Snowdonia

Tregantle is a large 4 bedroom house in the coastal village of Dyffryn Ardudwy in Snowdonia. This modern house can easily accommodate up to 10 people so perfect for extended family breaks by the sea.

A fully fitted kitchen has all the facilities you would expect including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A small breakfast table in the kitchen is great for children and their colouring in while Mum or Dad cooks.

Double French doors lead through to the more formal dinning room. A large hardwood table surrounded by ten high backed dining chairs creates an elegant refined space for family meals. The lounge opposite is more relaxed with plenty of slouching opportunities in front of the flat screen TV.

What makes this room particularly appealing is another set of large French doors that open out onto a decked area outside. You can sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the sunny yet private garden whilst others stay indoors to watch the telly. I always enjoy that feeling when you rush indoors from bright sunshine and it takes a moment or two for your eyes to adjust to the light.

The last room on the ground floor is a large bedroom with a super king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Perfect for older relatives perhaps but modern and spacious enough to be the favorite of old and young alike.

There are three more bedrooms upstairs. Another bedroom with a super king-sized bed and en-suite shower room. Then a smaller twin bedroom and finally a huge family room with a king sized bed and two single beds. All the bedrooms look out over the coastline towards the Llyn Peninsula.

Ty-Bach-Twt | Stylish Cottage 2 Minutes From The Beach

This is the third cottage that Bethan and Gary have renovated in Dyffryn Ardudwy near Barmouth. They must be a great time as this one is every bit as stylish and well thought out as the first two. Luxuriously appointed and tastefully decorated this cottage offers the perfect retreat for couples looking to explore this beautiful part of North Wales.

Stylish Cottage North Wales Coast

..luxuriously appointed..
..perfect retreat..
..sense of style..

It’s open plan living down stairs. A sumptuous L shaped leather sofa facing onto a modern flat screen TV with windows facing out towards the flowerbeds and the fields beyond. The kitchen is compact but well equipped including a modern oven and hob as well as integral fridge and plenty of storage space. A nice wood breakfast bar separates the two areas.

The sense of style and elegance continues upstairs to the bedroom. A large super-king sized double (6′ wide) bed sits centrally against a floral wall with matching pillows and bedside lamps. Little touches like the chrome topped balustrades and retro alarm clock finishing the room off nicely.

The adjoining en-suite includes a large spacious and powerful shower as well as a basin and wc. The lighting here and throughout the cottage is subtle and refined. There’s also a second wc on the ground floor.

It’s worth pointing out that, with professional cottage owners like Bethan and Gary, guests can feel confident the cottage will be spotlessly clean and well presented each and every time they visit.

Location

The guests have the use of a small private patio area outside the cottage. Perfect for a early evening glass of wine perhaps. A little further along there’s a larger shared garden as well. Here guests can enjoy fabulous views across the coastline right out to the distant flash of Bardsey Island Lighthouse.

In the summer most people will visit the cottage because of the miles of sandy beaches nearby. And there certainly worth the trip no matter what time of year you decide to stay.
